The climate in Croatia: Continental climate dominantes the inland, what means, that the summers are hot and the winters cold. During the summer the average temperature amounts to 25°C. During the winter the average temperature amounts to 0°. In Northeastern Croatia the annual precipitation amounts to 700 millimetres. Moister is the coast area. Here dominates the Mediterranean climate, in other words, the winters are not that cold, but rainy (average temperature in January 9°C) and the summers are hot and sunny (average temperature 28°C). Mountain areas located near the coast are the moistest areas in Croatia. Here, the annual precipitation amounts to 3000 millimetres. In Zagreb, the average temperature amounts to 2°C in January and to 26°C in July. In Dubrovnik the average temperature amounts to 12°C in January and 28°C in July. |
